Girls Golf

Meet the Head Coach

With fifteen years of head coaching experience, Libby Hoffman returns for an ninth season as both head volleyball and girls varsity golf coach for UMS-Wright. The Bulldog Varsity Volleyball team has made nine straight Elite Eight appearances in as many years. Although volleyball is her primary sport, Coach Hoffman has worked to put the UMS-Wright girls golf program on the map. With each passing season, the team has advanced one step deeper into post-season play. Coach Hoffman's husband Joel is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and is retired from the Army Corps of Engineers.

UMS-Wright fielded both a varsity and a junior varsity team once again in 2017. All the girls played qualifying rounds together, practiced together, learned from each other, and got better every day. Our JV team worked hard to improve and shave strokes from their game.

The Bulldogs played a tough 2017 schedule, beginning each match in prayer and finishing with a successful four-time Sectional Champs, a three-repeat as Sub-State Champs, a 4A-5A State Runner-Up title, and placed two girls on the 1A-7A All County Golf Team. The ladies fought hard against a tough field, finishing only seventeen strokes behind a solid Trinity team, and eleven strokes ahead of the defending state champ, White Plains.  No doubt, the Bulldogs will be back in force for another shot at a state championship title in 2018.
